You might have heard adults talking about the Great Resignation.

That term was likely created by Anthony Klotz, a professor at Texas A&M, who predicted that a huge number of people would quit or leave their jobs in 2021.

And they did just that.

Through November 2021, an average of more than 3.9 million workers quit and left

their jobs each month.

And in November of 2021 alone, 4.5 million workers quit and left their jobs, which means

2021 will hold the highest average in U.S. history. And this has affected all the different

industries, but the most affected has been the retail hospitality and food industry.

Retail are the stores that you shop in. And the hospitality

industry includes people that work at restaurants, check place, hotels, airlines, cruise lines,

and theme parks, just to name a few. And that's why your food might have taken so long to come out, or why your parents couldn't find someone to help them at the grocery store.

And while the people who work in hospitality, food service, and retail work incredibly hard to take care of us, those jobs are often low-paying hourly wages.
