I'm Margaret Talib. Welcome to Axios Recap, where we dig into one big story. Today's Wednesday,

0:08.2

November 3rd, and we're focused on how last night's Republican election wins are playing today on Capitol Hill.

0:20.1

It's been a painful reality check for Democrats. Have they run out of time to enact their agenda,

0:25.3

that big infrastructure deal, and that huge social welfare package? And what do these results say,

0:30.4

anyhow, about their chances of hanging on to the majority in 2022? Well, this afternoon,

1:33.9

to get this done. And that's been kind of one of the biggest issues that we've seen hold up

1:38.3

this entire process all along. So I think if anything, they've learned their lessons from

1:44.1

2010 under the Obama

1:45.8

administration when Republicans last took back the House, and they're recognizing that they

1:50.4

need to get moving and start really putting policy and words into action to ensure that they

1:56.4

keep voters in line with them. She indicated in that Dear Colleys letter that nothing had changed because

2:01.6

the election results, do you think she was trying to signal that they were still on track to
