All right. Hello and welcome back to Making the Argument. We got an interesting episode for you here today.

0:04.9

We're actually talking with John Rob Chadwick from USCA, U.S. Concealed Carry Association.

0:12.8

And I got to tell you, I started looking into this organization because, you know, some people I admire, some people I respect have done some work with them.

0:20.8

There was also some critiques I saw.

0:23.3

And I wanted to do, I wanted to do some deep dive and some analysis in that as well.

0:27.8

And so we're going to, we're going to discuss all of it.

0:29.9

We're going to discuss all that today.

0:30.8

We're going to kind of figure out who these guys are, what they do.

0:34.1

But the biggest thing that surprised me is that, you know, I had heard about USCA. And

0:38.3

if you were to ask me about it just on the street, like, you're a member of this organization. Well, these are the guys going to come in. They're going to help you. They're going to help you cover down on some of the legal expenses that might be associated with that. And you think about certain states. I mean, I think that's the sort of thing where you might need that in any state. But if you're especially dealing in a state where you have a district attorney or a commonwealth attorney that has decided that they have a zero tolerance policy with respect to gun violence

1:11.5

and they're looking for any opportunity whatsoever in order to throw you behind bars in order to make

1:16.2

an example for their next election cycle. That can get expensive, quick. And you're going to pay the

1:22.2

tab, right? If it means giving up everything, if it means losing your voting rights, if it means going to

1:26.3

jail, you're going to pay it. You're going to pay it. And there's not too many people walking around

1:30.3

right now anticipating something like that or having a bunch of money in the bank account in

1:34.4

order to be able to pull down those legal fees. So that's how I would have described him. I would

1:38.1

have said, hey, that's enough. That's enough. That sounds like a pretty good organization. Then I started to look at some of the resources and the training they provided and it was really

1:45.1

impressive not simply because of what they do, but because it also looks like it's something of a networking organization.

1:50.2

So I'm happy to have, happy to have Rob on with us today in order to answer some questions and tell us a little bit about the organization and what they might provide.

1:59.5

Because as I've said many times now, one of the things this organization is about, one of the things this, or excuse me,

2:04.7

one of the things this podcast is about is about helping people build intentional community.

2:09.6

And one of the parts about intentional community is knowing about who you can trust,
