Firstly, apologies for the very, very raggedy voice that you're about to hear.

I am going to blame a cold, but also the fact that for a whole series I've been impersonating gravelly voiced gangsters, which I guess I just went to method.

We thought we had to polish off what has been an incredible series about two ambitious, powerful, unconventional and often dangerous brothers with a really brilliant guest

and that is exactly what we've got for you now.

So it's not only my voice that's going to sound different, but also the setting.

Usually we're here in our lovely crisp studio but for

this one I went to Stoke Newington in the borough of Hackney now that feels really

appropriate because just around the corner is Ciedra court where the Cray brothers had

their flats one above the other. This was also their

gang HQ and where Ron held his infamous sex parties. Also not far away was

Evering Road which is where Reg killed Jack the Hackmett Vitti in 1967.

So without much more gabbing on for me, let's meet a woman who represented the craze in court numerous times

and was actually one of the first female barristers.

She was their legal representation but she also became really close to them.

She didn't represent them in their murder trial however, which is why we didn't hear from her in the series,

because she was forced to leave chambers after marrying a former convict.

So if you thought the Cray Twins had a film worthy life,

you haven't heard the half of it.
