1:01.2	Today, I am going to read for you another worldly story by Jamie Gaw.
1:07.4	Jamie is a speculative fiction writer and a graduate of the Clarion Science Fiction and Fantasy
1:12.8	Writers Workshop, class of 2016.
1:16.2	She's published short stories, poetry and nonfiction in a bunch of different venues,
1:21.3	and she's also co-edited the anthology The Sea is ours, tales of steampunk Southeast Asia.
1:27.8	And she also edited The Wiscan Chronicles, volume 11.
1:32.6	Now, I'm going to give you a bit of background in case you're not familiar with the dialects
1:37.4	or the religious practices that take place in today's story.
1:41.3	Jamie is Malaysian Chinese, and this story comes from one of her annual trips to Singapore.
1:48.0	It features two practices in Chinese folk religion that are still celebrated in Malaysia and Singapore.
