I'm Dan Pramak. On today's show, the small business loans program is out of money, and Facebook takes a giant step toward fighting coronavirus misinformation.

But first, the last dance of the unicorns.

0:19.4

Every year, Forbes magazine does a cover package called the Midas List, which basically tracks

0:23.9

the most successful venture capitalists.

0:26.3

It does so via a fairly complicated and sometimes opaque set of calculations, which focus

0:31.4

more on VC-backed startups that have gone public or been sold, but also gives great weight

0:36.4

to how VCs themselves value companies

0:38.7

0:53.3

mass layoffs and other troubles for

0:55.2

1:10.3

1:12.6

So let's dig in with Alex Conrad, senior editor at Forbes and keeper of the Midas list.

1:17.7

So Alex, before we get in some of the kind of questions about kind of how you did it this year,

1:21.3

just talk to me a little bit about the process and what was your biggest, if not takeaway,

1:26.0

maybe surprise after you guys crunched all the numbers this time around?

1:29.8

So we've done the Midas list for 19 years.
