Summary
A 15 question quiz has been designed to facilitate healthy discussions about factual LDS Church history, and LDS Church historical transparency. It should take less than 5 minutes to complete.
Audience: This quiz is for anyone who has ever been an LDS Church member, including active and inactive LDS Church members, and former LDS. Please take this quiz yourself, and then please invite family, friends, and (most importantly) LDS church leaders and missionaries to take the quiz as well.
We are hopeful that the survey can serve as a way for you and others to healthily discuss factual LDS Church history, as well as the LDS Church's overall record of historical transparency. NOTE: All of the historical facts below have been recognized by the LDS church as valid, to the best of our understanding. References have been included for discussion.
We will be awarding a modest number of cash awards to those who complete the survey in its entirety, and who are willing to share compelling insights or experiences - which might include coming on the podcast to discuss their experiences. | 0:42.1 | of its history. I also am continually approached about, you know, the scenario of like my bishop, |
| 0:51.9 | you know, I've stepped away from the church and my bishop wants |
| 0:55.0 | to know, you know, what's going on, or my state president wants to know what's going on, |
| 1:00.3 | or my elder's quorum president or relief study president wants to know what's going on, |
| 1:05.6 | or my parents or my siblings want to know what's going on, or, you know, sometimes the Mormon Church stake presidencies are bringing area authorities |
| 1:17.0 | or general authorities into, you know, wards and stakes and inviting more affluent or influential |
| 1:27.2 | members who have fallen away from the church |
| 1:32.5 | to meet with area authorities or general authorities or other top church leaders |
| 1:37.9 | with the intent of trying to understand why they've left the church |
| 1:43.5 | and what it would take to get |
| 1:47.0 | them back. And oftentimes people email me, very regularly, they email me and say, John, I'm meeting |

| 1:56.4 | church's expert in church history, because they're trying to get me me back are, you know, what should I say? |
| 2:02.2 | You know, how can we have a conversation? So for all those types of scenarios, I've come up with a |
