Hello, everyone and welcome to a special edition of Mormon Stories podcast. I'm your host

Sean DeLinn. It is February 18th, 2025, and I am super excited to announce a special project

that I thought about this morning and that I want to share with all of you and ask for your support.

So this morning I was thinking a lot about, you know, perceptions that many have that the

Mormon Church has or hasn't been honest or transparent or truthful in its history.

In discussing it's, let's just say, more problematic aspects

of its history. I also am continually approached about, you know, the scenario of like my bishop,

you know, I've stepped away from the church and my bishop wants

to know, you know, what's going on, or my state president wants to know what's going on,

or my elder's quorum president or relief study president wants to know what's going on,

or my parents or my siblings want to know what's going on, or, you know, sometimes the Mormon Church stake presidencies are bringing area authorities

or general authorities into, you know, wards and stakes and inviting more affluent or influential

members who have fallen away from the church

to meet with area authorities or general authorities or other top church leaders

with the intent of trying to understand why they've left the church

and what it would take to get

them back. And oftentimes people email me, very regularly, they email me and say, John, I'm meeting

with an area authority, or I'm meeting with the general authority, or I'm meeting with the

church's expert in church history, because they're trying to get me me back are, you know, what should I say?

You know, how can we have a conversation? So for all those types of scenarios, I've come up with a

project that I want to share with you. And the project is called the LDS Church History

transparency quiz. Now, I'll admit at the outset that The project is called the LDS Church History Transparency Quiz.
