As I record this, 10 years ago, I was sitting in a little recording studio in Denver,

Colorado with my new friend Michael Gunger. We had started a project called

The Littergists and we were releasing these monthly liturgies which were, you know, recorded materials

we would put out on like the music services and they were

designed to kind of help people who weren't sure what they believed about religion or

spirituality still experience religion and spirituality and we did some touring and

it took a ton of time and it was

took a ton of time and it took a ton of time and a ton of money and it you know I don't know

it was it was not a commercial success. There were definitely people who loved the work, but the audience was much smaller than the time we're putting into it.

And so we decided to try a podcast and although I have

successfully completely erased them from the internet's memory. I actually had a few podcasts back when podcasts

were things you listen to on an iPod because smartphones didn't exist.

So, it was like a first wave podgaster.

So it was like an easy muscle for me to wake up.

And that first episode, episode one, creativity of the Litturgis Podcast, as I record this, was 10 years ago that Michael and I were sitting in a studio recording that episode. We recorded several of them at the same time while I was in town.

We had to figure out how to route in our remote co-host,

Lissipano, and, uh, just wild.

So as you hear this, the first episode of the Litterges podcast came out 10 years ago that day, January, excuse me, July 29th, 2014,

and this is getting released on July 29th, 2024.

And it's wild, you know, I left the liturgists in 2019. To my knowledge, it's kind of like Michael is just running with the whole operation over there now.
