Peace be with you. Friends, I don't know if you're like me, but I always have a sense of relief

when we come back to ordinary time. We've been through the season of Advent, Christmas,

and now the church returns us to ordinary time. And it gives us this cycle, this marvelous reading from the

Gospel of John, the wedding feasted Cana. And it's as though as we commence the ordinary

liturgical year, we're meant to see everything through the lens of this reading. And it's been

so much commented upon, but I think it's of such massive importance for understanding

Christianity and biblical religion in general. And how wonderful that it sets it up, the church

sets it up with this reference to the prophet Isaiah and the idea of God's desire to marry his people.
