We are living in the age of apostasy.

And let's go to 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 and do a brief review of a scripture that we'll

be looking at several times before we're through. Second Thessalonians chapter two has been called the most difficult passage in the Bible,

and it really is.

It's difficult for people who believe in what it says,

and it's more difficult for people who don't believe what it says.

And it's, to me, the leading illustration in the Bible of one irrefutable fact, that God has

written the Bible so that it can't be understood by unbelievers.

And unbelievers come in all stripes, shades, and sizes, including Christians.

There are Christians out there who can't understand Scripture.

And if they call themselves Christians, they go to church.

They understand maybe three scriptures in the entire Bible.

The understanding of scripture is a gift of inconceivable value.

Just think about this.

If you can read the Bible with understanding, you have more than all

the gold and all the treasuries of the world. You have a gift that's beyond belief. It's just

amazing that God wrote a book and then gave us the power to understand what he said.

So Paul is writing here and he says, I beseech you,
