Summary
Steve was surprisingly calm, considering that he had just decided to die. His exhausted friend, Paul, was 100 yards out to sea, and the physically drained Steve knew that he did not have the strength for even a one-way trip to rescue him. Steven plunged into the ocean and began swimming to his friend.
