And this is why I think if you were alive in the 1800s, Bitcoin would be so much more obvious.

Because at that time, people understood the difference between money and credit.

There's an old quote, gold is money, everything else is credit.

So any instrument you put on top of it that's a derivative of gold, like a banknote,

that's not money, right? That's a promise to future money that I can take that banknote

to the bank and exchange it for money, which is gold.
