So I think the biggest challenge for the NBA is tweaking its system, whether it's a defensive rule change.

They've got to do something to bring some of these numbers down to diversify the offense a little more than just, hey, we're going to drive and kick or we're going to shoot early shot clock threes.

That I think is something that everyone in the NBA will agree with.

You know, I've got the fix, Chris. It's really obvious. You just reduce the value of a three-pointer

to like 2.6. Done.

And I would say this was probably the most unexpected request that I've had in like the last 10 years of writing, I'd say.

Yes, 10 years of writing. Well, very, very happy to have you on. People know I'm a big hoops head and hoops fan and who better to go to than someone like you who's an insider about all things NBA in particular. We're talking NBA. I'm not as much of a boxing guy as I am an MMA guy. But you have a career that a lot of people dream of. I know that after you're in it, it's quite difficult and blah, blah, blah, blah.

But you want to give people a sense of your path for some young folks who probably, frankly,

dream of being sports writers.

Yeah, I mean, I was fortunate that I had a direction pretty early on.

I grew up in Boston, and my uncle was or is Kevin Mannix, who for about 30 some odd years,

covered the Patriots for the Boston Herald.

And he was one of the first, he was one of the originators of the Monday morning report card, which was always kind of a must read in newspapers back in the day to see what the local writer gave for grades
