He is an associate professor of history at California State University

and he wrote a book. It's a new book and I think it's his first book. It's called a machine to move

ocean and earth the making of the port of Los Angeles and America. So without

I am excited to talk about your new book.

It is called a Machine Move Ocean and Earth, the Making of the Port of Los Angeles and a mall.

I think that there are certain topics that we sometimes cover on Talk Nurdy,

which are, how do I put this ostensibly mundane but are actually

fundamentally important and really really interesting like I don't know how often people think of courts in their day-to-day life,

but I know that a deep dive into this is really necessary for understanding our global economy.
