Hello, let's quickly address what happened last week before getting into today's episode.

0:06.7

So as you know, dear Hollywood, is entirely independently written by my mind and produced out of my own personal pocket so the material hasn't

0:15.9

been touched by any outside entities. Well last week an opportunity came up to

0:21.5

bring on the first sponsor. And from the outside it

0:25.0

appeared to be deeply aligned. I knew therapists who'd partnered with this company. I

0:30.0

had some entertainment peers who collaborated with them and then my friends and I had some entertainment peers who collaborated with them and then my friends and I had personally been customers and coincidentally they were all positive experiences.

Well, after hitting post, a number of comments brought up some real concerns that were not in my awareness.

0:47.0

So I immediately did research, I notified my team, and I spoke to the brand directly to see what they had to say.

therapy sessions ever been shared with advertisers, publishers, social media platforms, or other similar third parties.

1:17.0

If you want, you can research this more on their privacy policy, I'll link that below, and apparently they've also since gotten certified by

1:27.2

1:34.7

Third, I want to reiterate that this podcast and the mission behind it are sacred and I don't

1:40.0

want to do anything to jeopardize the trust and credibility. I know that some people have decided to disavow the

1:47.4

podcast and my channel altogether. However, I know many of you are up for growing together, humanizing each other, having nuanced and difficult conversations, so I want to focus our energy there moving forward.

2:01.0

Lastly, the reality is as a content creator in order to keep

2:05.2

this podcast going and cover the expenses, help it reach more people for free, I do

2:10.5

need to have sponsors. I'm actually going to dedicate a few episodes to

2:14.9

brand deals and social media in a few weeks and I hope you'll find it to be

2:18.2

illuminating. But for now, know that I am truly doing my best to be thoughtful.
