During a curious brief impromptu interview I held with Stevie Wanda at Los Angeles International Airport in 2017.

The legendary musician, singer-songwriter, producer, an occasional one-man band, made a tantalizing

teaser about an immediate public revelation.

Stevie had just casually told the reporter from T.M.

That had flown and landed a couple of planes in his time,

prompting the reporter to ask if the supposedly blind recording artist was ever going to

come out one day.

Are you ever going to come out as not blind?

What?

At this point, Stevie stared meaningfully into the TV camera,

well he stared meaningfully at the TV camera, and solemnly declared that he would

be unveiling the whole truth later that year.

It sounds as if he might be on the verge of finally confirming the rumors which have been

quietly circulating around the media ever since 2005.

One of the most acclaimed and commercially successful musicians in history had only been

pretending to be blind ever since he released his first record back in 1962 at the tender

age of just 11.

A lot of people might feel a bit cheated if this was to be proved true.
