The Hi, my name is Chris Brennan, and this is episode 219 of the

astrology podcast. In this episode I'm going to be talking about the

revival of astrology in Romania over the course of the past 30 years.

So in June of 2019, just a couple of months ago,

I traveled to Romania from June 6th through the 10th

to attend and speak at an astrology conference that was being hosted there by the Romanian

astrologers Association.

So on June 9th I conducted several interviews and some of the interviews with some younger

astrologers I already published and released in episode 213 of the astrology podcast, but that day I also conducted some interviews with the founders of the astrological organization there, and two of those I'm releasing in this episode of the astrology podcast.

So the first interview was with Firasel Siarnu,

and the second was with Mehele Diku.

So one of the things that I learned about during my trip to Romania was the recent

revival of astrology over the past 30 years after the revolution that took place in 1989, and that's kind of the focus or a large

part of the focus of this episode and of these two interviews that I'm about to

present. So what happened is that while there were a few astrology books published in Romania in the early 20th century

right around the time that astrology was being revived in other Western countries after a long

slumber of a few centuries after it fell out of sort of intellectual usage after the Renaissance.

So although there were some books published in Romania in the early 20th century,

after World War II Romania was taken over by the communists of course,

and during that time astrology became outlawed and was no longer permissible.

And part of the background behind that is that in the Soviet Union, they promoted

atheism and were generally against religions and religious practices in general.
