0:33.2	Today we are jumping back 360 years to romp through the 1660s and learn all about King
0:39.3	Charles II and the restoration of the monarchy.

0:50.5	So what was the restoration?
0:52.7	Well, if you're restoring something, that means something has been taken away and needs
0:56.2	to be put back and that thing was the King.
0:59.8	In the 1640s there had been horrible civil wars in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales
1:05.6	and people were either on the side of the King, whose name was Charles I, or they were
1:10.4	on the side of Parliament and after lots of battles, Parliament won the war.
1:16.3	In 1649 King Charles I was put on trial and found guilty of treason and that's the biggest
1:23.3	crime there is, it's even worse than licking all the biscuits so someone else can't eat
1:27.2	them.
1:28.8	Not only did the country part ways with Charles as their King, Charles's head and body parted
1:34.0	ways too, he was executed.
