Hey, this is Tray, thank you for joining us for a Tuesday edition of our podcast.

Our guest this week was one of my favorite colleagues and if you listen to my podcast

you know, I don't say that very often, it deserves a lengthy introduction, but he's got to get

back to work and I want to use our time to hear from him. So just suffice it to say, he's the

United States Senator from the great state of South Dakota. He's in leadership, he's on commerce

and agriculture and finance, maybe others, I know of those. And would be in the running for the most

decent, nice person left in politics. And that would be Senator John Thune from the great

state of South Dakota. Senator, welcome, how are you? Great, great to do with you, thank you.

All right, you used to serve in the house. I know that when you look over there, you were tempted

to want to go back because it looked, it has to look like so much fun right now. How do you,

I mean, we always get out of these pickles that we find ourselves in and usually there's no

like policy change after a shutdown, just a lot of chagrindas and some back pay, but how do you

see this ending? I hope we can keep, I hope we can avoid a shutdown trade. You've been around

the house days long enough too to deal with many of these issues and nobody wins from that and

as has been pointed out, I think almost every circumstance where we have one, we get blamed,

you know, whether it's our fault or not. In many cases, it will be the Democrats, but nevertheless,

for whatever reason, we always end up taking the blame. So I just think that we need to figure this

out. I'm hoping that, you know, the house can figure out a path forward and execute on, you know,

sending continued resolution clean, whatever looks like to the Senate, we'll process it. I think

we can avoid it, but as you point out, they've got some heavy lifting head over there because

at least at the moment, they don't seem to be coming together, but I ain't any more approach,

but I'm hopeful, but then I'm a hopeful guy. Well, I am not known for my hopefulness. I am a
