here's Pastor Chuck right now in our Bibles to Luke's gospel chapter 7 at this point in

Luke's gospel he's going to give us a series of events,

miracles that transpired in the life of Jesus.

When he had ended these sayings, in the audience of the people,

he entered into Copernium,

and a certain centurion servant who was dear unto him was sick and ready to die.

And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews,

beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.

And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly saying that he was worthy for whom he

should do this, for he loves our nation, and he has built us a synagogue.

The Roman centurions were special men.

They are mentioned several times in the scriptures and always in a favorable light.
