After a search covering parts of three boroughs,

detectives today captured little Josephina Taranova, the 20-year-old beauty who stabbed her

uncle, Gatano Regio, and his wife in Kingsbridge Thursday night, as she was about entering

an Italian tenement at No. 124 Sheriff Street. They charged her with murder. Only two hours before, the uncle had died of the wounds in his abdomen at the Fordham Hospital. The aunt was still alive, but sinking.

All night long, the detectives had watched the house where yesterday they had found the young woman's sister. The girl took her

capture with surprising calmness. She said, in good English, I'll go with you, but I'm hungry. Won't you let me get something to eat first?

The detectives waited until the mother could prepare some food. The prisoner ate as ifamished. Then they took her to the

Bronx Detective Bureau. She walked jaunily along, unconcerned and smiling. Her hair was disordered and her

face dirty, but she made a really pretty picture in the wedding finery which she had worn when she went

to Cambridge to kill the uncle and the aunt on Thursday night. Her big white hat had a

rakish white plume in it and a white veil came down over her face. She wore a long black coat

of cheap black velvet and a red velvet skirt.

She carried in her hands a handbag in a silk handkerchief.

There were six big red stains on the front of her black coat.

She told the detectives,

I got those there when I stabbed my aunt.

When they first left the sheriff's

street home, one of the plain clothesmen took a steel bracelet out of his pocket and prepared

to lock it on her wrist. The girl said, You needn't do that. I'm not going to run away. I'm glad

you found me. I'm tired and hungry. I have been wandering
