I'm Sadata Sese, an assistant commissioner of podcasts for BBC Sounds.

I pull a lot of levers to support a diverse range of podcasts on all sorts of subjects,

relationships, identity, comedy, even one that mixes poetry, music and inner city life.

So one day I'll be helping host develop their ideas, the next fact-checking, a feature,

At that time, I started heading, going grocery shopping

because I did not want to feel the stairs.

I did not want to see the headlines of the evening papers.

My husband worked as a police officer, and at that time we had two dogs. Two big boxer dogs. So they were

my bodyguards. They sleep in your room at night? Yeah. With their sloppy faces, they were

protecting me at all times. This is Johanna at Salo. She's a Finnish journalist who

wrote a story in 1998 that made headlines for all the wrong reasons.

She lost her job and her marriage. She was convicted of defamation and became a national hate figure.

Death threats were even made against her. But through it all, she held her nerve, never stopped fighting back.
