In this Here Be Monsters brief, Jeff shares the short essay he originally wrote about the dinner party where they attempted to make an uneasy friendship.

Jeff re-edited the essay in 2022 and gave pseudonyms to the main characters (“Cliff” and “Sophie”).

1:05.2	Most of them seemed angry and oversensitive, but Cliff was neither.
1:09.4	He was all smiles, and he didn't get upset with me when I disagreed with him.
1:15.5	I asked him what his story was, and he told me he used to be Catholic, and then for a while
1:20.3	he was an atheist.
1:23.3	Then he became a Christian, and that's what he is now, just a Christian, and he wants
1:28.0	to set a couple things straight.
1:30.3	First, if you get married, then you have to stay married, no matter what, you only get
1:35.7	one shot at it.
