0:15.0	This is two-minute black history, what you didn't learn in school.
0:22.9	Many athletes dream of competing in the Olympics.
0:26.5	So when track and field qualifiers came to Illinois for the 1932 Olympics,
0:31.6	Tide Pickett and Louise Stokes were determined to make the cut.
0:35.9	Stokes and Pickett came in fourth and six respectfully
0:39.5	in the 4x-100 Relay. Stokes qualified as a place member of the U.S. Olympic team. Pickett
0:45.8	qualified as her alternate, but their Olympic dream quickly became a nightmare. The pair were excluded
0:53.2	from team meetings and dinners and forced to share a compartment
0:56.8	on the train while their white teammates had private quarters. Even with local papers writing
1:03.0	about the pair competing for Team USA, the women were barred from competition at the last minute.
1:09.2	Four years later, they eventually competed in the 1936
1:13.2	Berlin Olympics. This country's exploitation of Pickett and Stokes was cruel and demeaning. Yet,
1:23.8	black athletes continue to show up for this country despite the treatment they receive.
