The Un observed Mind leads to Suffering.

In this episode, Eckhart talks to an audience in New York City.

He reminds them of life's fleeting nature,

and that in 80 or 90 years,

the names of people lit up by the bright lights of Broadway will be gone.

Success, fame, and fortune do not provide immunity from what Eckhart calls the burden of self.

The identity we fabricate from our problems, including health, careers, finances, and relationships.

Eckhart explains that the greatest source of suffering is not just created by the mind,

but by our unobserved thoughts because they drift in and out of our awareness,

and we believe them without question.

Eckhart says, over time, we weave them into a sad story called,

My Life, and we become victim to these narratives.

Eckhart explains that we cannot go through life without challenges he says even if we are awakened spiritually difficulties will continue

However the difference is that we will no longer turn adversity into suffering because we have the awareness to

liberate ourselves from the shackles of our thinking.

Our delay was a wonderful opportunity for you to practice presence

and it's wonderful to see so many awakened or awakening human beings because you're all here, almost old,

because what I call the awakening process, which is a shift in consciousness,

is taking place in you.

And if it's not yet, in you have come here

have come here either by accident

or you couldn't say no to somebody who said you should come.
