I don't know the timeline. Like the velvet underground there for a little bit too long. Yes, we were there for a little bit too long.

But I gotta say they have the best Mexican food. Yeah, as a person who grew up in Mexico, they have the best Mexican food ever.

Yeah, nothing controversial there. Great sushi. Oh, yeah. But what is up with these New Yorkers? I love Henry and Natalie, right?

They are my sister-wife and sister-husband. Yeah, right? But the fact that they eat the pizza in front of us in L.A. L.A. pizza, pizza that's made in L.A.

And they eat it and they say that's good. I am so insulting. I almost I almost just booked another flight out of it.

Getting there. We're getting there, but there's still a lot to go in this story.

So the Velvet Underground's trip to Los Angeles that ended last week's episode was not quite the total bust that it seemed to be.

See, as we said, most of the Velvet's debut album was recorded in their hometown in New York City.

New York City. So no, it always gets stronger up to a trip to LA. It always does. Are they moving? No, no, we're not.

Those recordings that they did in New York City are known as the Scepter Sessions. But as stoop listeners to the Velvet's debut,

we'll note that three of the songs in the album, I'm waiting for the man, heroin and Sunday morning,

they all sound markedly better than the rest. They're more polished, they're clearer, they're tighter.

For an example of how much clearer they sound, let's listen to a section of one of those three.
