episode. So when we left off in part one we were discussing the possibility that Amy might

have been sold into sexual slavery and removed from the boat by force,

though there isn't actually any physical evidence that it happened.

Now essentially what's going on here in terms of

thematic resonance is that they are removing her from that life where she

suffered, that life of inauthenticity, and ironically extracting hope from the equation moving forward.

There is no hope in sexual slavery that you will ever get to stop pleasing men. And when we examine the human condition,

sometimes what we learn about those enduring painful dilemmas is that they can't choose.

That's the basis of the problem.

They straddle the fence.

These human traffickers simply manifest the choice for you.

And in doing so so they symbolically become her father
