Last night at my oldest son's soccer practice, he scored his first goal.

And it may not seem like much because after all it is just soccer practice.

When you consider it in its context and you consider it in its context, and you take it in its totality, and you

understand that my son's team is O and 4 on the season, and they've lost by a combined probably 50 points.

You start to think, there's hope.

If you would have seen the elation on my son's face when he saw the ball go in the goal,

man he was so excited he was jumping up and down he was screaming and it was as if he

tasted blood because that clicked something in him where he was like it's on now

I'm about to go score. When I contrast that with my youngest son,

his team is for no, and they've probably beaten their teams by 100 to zero.

And I noticed something last week that disturbed me a little bit. My youngest

son was, I think he scored four goals last Saturday and on one of the goals I could see my

oldest son watching and when he scored the goal he kind of went down like he wasn't

happy for him he didn't't cheer. And I get it, they're just kids.

But it bothered me because in our family we cheer for each other. In our family, we are celebratory when something great happens. And I just kind of took a note,

I didn't want to bring it up, didn't want to bother him at all, because his dad just got done,

losing by a ton. So maybe he was just in down spirits. But when he got his goal

yesterday his brother was ecstatic for him. We were all elated. Then this morning

dropping my kids off at school and my son he just brings up,

hey, what color are your gum? It's like your teeth gums. It's like mine are pink.

And then my other son's like, oh, mine are pink. I'm like, I think mine are pink.

Like, I don't know.
