She has a form of synesthesia called lexical gustatory synesthesia.

And I'm gonna let her give the definition

So do you just want to kick this off with what is

synesthesia in general and then what exactly is the form that you experience?

Sure. So the actual definition of synesthesia is the production of a sense impression

relating to one sense or part of the body by stimulation of another sense or part of the body which is such a mouthful so the way that I've tried to explain it to people is just it's like a wire gets crossed between your senses and it can occur with any senses. The one that I think people hear about more

commonly is when people hear sounds and then they see colors in front of their eyes and actually

I've heard about that happening

with a guy that eats food and then sees color patterns

in front of his eyes and he'll eat weird combinations of food

because it makes a pretty color pattern.
