This week, a fascinating interview with Roger Lee of Ironworks Speed and Custom.

He's in Bakersfield, California.

For 24 years, Roger has been leading the charge on building really cool cars

because there's just nothing else he should be doing.

I initially asked him on to talk about his legacy series Chevelle

and really any A-Body GM platform that he's building

because it looks like, to me from the outside,

he was about to make a production car there.

And he sort of is, and he sort of isn't.

But man, his approach is dynamite.

He's developed a unibody chassis with Roadster Shop, in fact, for it.

To have the floor mounts for the seats, to have the floor, to have the transmission tunnel,

to have everything in there in the same position with basically the same ride height,

but now we don't have the frame hanging below the rocker.

And then, get this.

For years, he's been teaching a business development class on being successful in the business

of car building.

They have another class coming up soon, and I was intrigued about that too.

But I also believe that a rising tide raises all ships.

And so if I can get these other shops to learn how to run a better business,

because more than likely the customer coming in is going to be more business savvy
