0:19.5	Dr. Jaffe is a board certified child and adolescent
0:23.8	psychiatrist, and he's an associate professor of psychiatry and pediatrics at the Mount
0:29.7	Santa Hospital here in New York City, although I'm not in New York City, so I don't know why I just
0:34.4	said that. And he's the program director for the
0:38.0	Child and Adolescent Fellowship, as well as the psychiatric director of the children's
0:41.7	integrated pediatric and psychiatry clinic and school-based program in East Harlem, serving
0:46.8	our city's youth, and the director of the Mount Sinai-Torrette Association of America's Center of
0:51.6	Excellence. He's currently leading research trials looking at novel
0:55.3	treatments for Tourette's disorder and ADHD. And today we're going to talk about some of the
1:02.2	ways that parents and caregivers can think about how to take steps to get support for kids who they feel are experiencing.
1:14.3	We're going to talk specifically about ADHD and anxiety. But in general, if you are
1:20.2	concerned that there is something beyond a subclinical diagnosis, how do we understand talking about treatment, especially because
1:31.9	right now there's a real conversation happening culturally, which is there's too much medication
1:38.4	or there is no access and there isn't enough medication and what does all of this mean?
1:44.4	And I think it can make parents so scared and confused about what to listen to.
1:50.2	So that's what we're talking about.
1:53.1	And Dr. Jaffe, can you just maybe give us your overview of how parents can think about when to seek support and how to think
2:05.2	about that support, whether it needs to go in the direction of psychiatry and medication.
