Ever thought about dropping the phone, the computer, getting off the grid, leaving the stress behind?

Well in sunny California, Chris Smith sure did.

He was a real surfer, and every surfer that anybody knows has a dream of

sailing off in the sunset with a beautiful woman and a bunch of money. And why not?

He's 31, six feet tall, movie star handsome, and he's rich.

He's saying I'm headed to Peru and I'm on the Galapagos Islands, you know I'm going to travel a bit.

Chris had a rep as a risk taker but who was also the kind of guy who was always looking over his shoulder

And he's like everyone's after me they're after me

He tells his family that the company he's got a former playboy playmate and a box full of gold coins

He just mentioned how gold is safer in general each one of them is worth about a thousand bucks. So if he did do travel or if he did disappear, he would just take all the gold with them.

Setting sale should have been freeing, should have been fun.

Chris was cashing out of the successful ad company

he created with his business partner, Ed Chin.

Now, Ed is a father, a family man, a deacon in his church.

The company had been making Ed and Chris a million dollars richer every month.

Well, in theory, one of those partners took a lot of the money to Las Vegas, and it never came back.

A couple of Rolls Royces, pull up, drive us out to the Tarmac where there's a jet waiting

for us. That was a whole new level. And the partnership worked

until one of them got greedy. He was a sociopath and as a sociopath he could

justify anything. Ruthless diabolical greed to the extreme.

I mean that's really what this boils down to.

It got to the point where we needed some answers, we needed to take some action.
