Hey y'all, my name is Lisa Harper. I'm a middle-aged chick which simply means my

hair is chemically dependent and my favorite pants are usually stretchy. More

importantly I'm an adoptive mom. By God's grace I got to bring

my amazing daughter Missy home from Haiti almost six years ago. I'm also an author, Bible teacher

recovering Pharisee, Tex-Mex food lover,

doctoral candidate studying Redemptive Hermonutics, and I am a born and bred

storyteller. My mom Patty will tell you I pretty much came out of the womb

talking and got windier as I grew up. I think I've always loved telling stories

listening to stories and reading stories because they're the heartbeat of real life.

Everyone has a story.

They just might not know it yet.

Plus as a Christ follower, I love that the Bible is basically one huge action-packed and

redemptive, meta-narrative. It's a big story.

Speaking of biblical literature, I spent a large chunk of the last few years researching

the true Old Testament story of Job.

I know, I know, most people think that diving into the story of Job would be the equivalent

of sticking their hand in a blender.

But it's actually one of the most hopeful stories in human history because it's all about

redemption, which is why Tim Halperin, my rock star producer and almost little brother,

and I decided that in this first season of Life with Lisa Harper,

we're going to focus on the jobish theme of real joy in the midst of real hard life.

Therefore, we've subtitled our first official podcast season out of the ashes.
