I'm Francis Foster. I'm Constantine Kissen. Hello and this is the show for you if you were sick of people arguing on the

internet about subjects they know nothing about at trigonometry we

don't pretend to be experts. We ask the experts.

We are here at the world famous Angel Comedy Club and our amazing expert guest this week is a journalist,

economist, broadcaster and author of Clean Brexit, Liam Halligan.

Welcome to Trickenometry. Thank you. Liam, so before we get started, one of the things we always like to ask our guests is

just tell us a little bit about your background, how is it that you are, who you are today?

Okay, so I was born into a working class family in London.

I was the first person in my family to go to university.

I'm from an Irish background, which wasn't always easy growing up in the

70s. I'm an economist by training. I was an academic for a while then I became a newspaper columnist

so I've written a column in the Daily Telegraph for about almost 20 years now a weekly column

and I write columns elsewhere too. I spent quite a lot of

time in Russia both in the 90s as a journalist and then more recently I do a show three times a week on CNN, so I've got a portfolio career.

I'm not, I think a lot of people in British journalism don't quite know where to define me and

where to categorise me. I guess that's the way I like it.
