Today's story is not an April Fool's joke.

We can assure you. A former president's social media

network has officially gone public with a multi-billion dollar valuation, a valuation that some say is,

well, a bit overinflated. The former president, Donald Trump, of course, the social media network, Truth Social.

Last week, for the first time in almost 30 years, part of Trump's business empire went public.

Truth Social stock surged 56% of the opening bell to 78 bucks a share and ended the day at just under $58.

That's a more modest 16% increase on the day, according to CNN.

Despite the slide, Wall Street is still assigning Trump media, that's the owner of Truth Social,

evaluation of nearly $11 billion. CNN called that number eye-popping.
