I just got back from Cuba and I just found out that Garth Hudson died.

And anybody who didn't know who Garth Hudson was, he was the organist and accordion player,

probably some piano, electric piano player, harmony singer in the band.

They called him Honeyboy, H.B., because he made everything sound sweeter.

And Garth Hudson was, I don't know, I never met him, but I loved him.

He was very iconic in that band.

He was the big one with the bushiest beard, the biggest with the bushiest beard.

And he just seemed like a sweet, sweet guy.

And I think he was the last member of the band to die.

The first member of the band to die was Richard Manuel,

who was a horrible alcoholic who killed himself.

I'm pretty sure.

The second member of the band to die, I want to say, was Rick Danko, who was also an alcoholic

and a heroin addict, definitely one of us, one of my favorite singers and bass players.

And then the third member of the band to die was the great Levant Helm, who I loved. He was the drummer who sang. He like sang

lead on the wait and the night they drove old Dixie down and all those songs. And he wrote a book

called This Wheels on Fire, which really is one of the great

junkie memoirs that I've ever read, because the band was this incredible rock and roll

band that was put together between Canada and Arkansas in the early 1960s. And I want to say,
