So I think you've already announced our new Mystic in a previous season but I'll let you introduce

her. Yes, I'll begin by saying that we're kind of entering a new phase in the series of

reflections on these different mystics because up till now each of the mystics we've explored

have been mystics but in very much a part of my life since I was in the monastery.

I was introduced to them there. I've been reading them over the years to give and retreats on them

many times. So now we're beginning mystics that have been very aware of for a long time but

haven't really sat with in that extended way. So with McDowell my contemplative prayer group

is St. Monica's Weed Me Twice a Month and I would give a half hour talk on one of the mystics

then we would do an hour of sitting and walking meditation and so I spent a year with McDowell

and so I spent a year with her and in preparing for this podcast I've been getting re-immersed

back in her again. So I'm kind of on a learning curve also with her getting back into the subtleties

of her guidance that she gives us. So with that said we'll begin as usual with what we know of her

who she was historically to help us understand and appreciate better who she is spiritually.
