Since 9-11, the special operations community has largely come out of the shadows

and more into view of the American public.

The Green Berets, who wrote horses into Afghanistan and called in precision airstrikes,

the raid on Osama bin Laden, Pakistan's compound,

or the Baghdaddy kill, were high points in special operators making the news.

But the work of special operations isn't always that big and it isn't always direct action.

Green Berets, like today's guests, were built to train indigenous forces

and partner closely with foreign militaries.

The community at large and by component is very tightly knit.

We look out for each other on the battlefield and when we get back home.
