1:16.4	with the latest update in the Alien Enemies Act case on Monday night. Shortly after the last
1:22.8	episode went live, because that's just how things work. The Supreme Court held that the Trump administration
1:28.1	can continue to deport suspected gang members under the Alien Enemies Act, but that the deportees
1:34.3	must have the opportunity to challenge their removal. And to do so, they have to file the challenge
1:40.6	as a habeas challenge in the jurisdiction where they are being detained.
1:45.2	So let's back up. We've talked about this case a lot. Short summary, President Trump signed a
1:49.0	proclamation invoking an old law called the Alien Enemies Act. He invoked the law for the
1:53.4	specific purpose of deporting suspected Trenday Aragua gang members because what the law says
1:59.0	is that the president has the authority to detain
2:02.0	or deport citizens of any enemy nation without a hearing when either Congress has declared war
