what happens when leadership isn't shared.

When the leader is absent, people look for quick, unhealthy replacements.

The same thing happens in the modern church, right?

We elevated dynamic pastors, unintentionally placing them between us and God.

But when they fall or leave or burn out, communities often feel lost, cynical, or desperate

for another strong leader to fill the gap.

And I think Exodus warns us against this cycle.

Instead of depending on a single figure, we're called into a different type of leadership.

the scandal of leadership and folks uh i really can't say enough about about about this book other than I wish I had

have written it so this is a lot or mostly it's it's your PhD work and so folks

it's a thick book so buy a lot of coffee to get you through several days but you want it's it's

an essential read in my opinion it's a it's just a phenomenal read especially for our times

today jr if you hadn't written this a year and a half or a couple years ago, and it took you a few years

to write it, because once again, it's PhD work, then you would have needed to start writing

it right now. What do you think about the times that we're in right now as it applies to a subject

such as a scandal of leadership for the church.

I've been thinking pretty deeply about it since the late 90s.

And yeah, I mean, obviously it's just become a major issue today in the church with the fall of so many leaders.
