Hello everyone and welcome to talk nerdy. Today is Monday, April 15th,

2024 and I'm the host of the show Kara Santa Maria and for those of you joining me this week

who had the opportunity to see the eclipse last week,

I know we air on Mondays,

and so last Monday when this went to air,

I was actively observing totality in Texas,

along with the Skeptics Guide to the Universe, which is the other podcast that I work on.

We did some shows over the weekend and then we got to kind of just get together with with family and

Observe the the eclipse. We had like four minutes of totality.

It was very touch and go because it was cloudy all day.

The weather report was not looking good,

but as predicted by many astronomers in our audience about,

I'd say 20 minutes before totality this clouds just

fully parted and they stayed they stayed parted for the entire totality and for

almost the entire second half of the eclipse.

So we were able to get some just incredible observations in.

It was my second, but for a lot of the folks that I was with it was there first so I got to see it through their eyes and there was some tears it was definitely emotional and those of you who got to participate as well I hope that it was I hope it was as good for you as it was for me and I've been like enjoying

seeing some of the posts that you've put on social media and some of the messages

that you've sent our way. I also wanted to announce before we dive into this week's episode

that I am coming up on my 500th episode of Talk Nurdy so that's gosh 10 years

now we started in 2014 and I want to do something kind of special

for the 500th episode I think I want to do an AMA and ask me anything I have already
