Vice President J.D. Vance has today threatened to abandon negotiations for a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine.

We've issued a very explicit proposal to both the Russians and the Ukrainians,

and it's time for them to either say yes or for the United States to walk away

from this process.

His ultimatum comes as a major meeting in London today, which aimed to end the war in Ukraine,

was massively downgraded when U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he would not attend.

State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce said this was due to, quote, logistical issues.

The US has become increasingly steadfast in trying to push Kyiv to an agreement,

but a major sticking point is that Ukraine is adamant, it will not give up Crimea,

which Russia took in 2014, saying it's against their constitution.

Meanwhile today, Ukrainian authorities said nine people were killed and at least 30 wounded

when a Russian drone struck a bus near the city of Mahanets.
