My sometimes co-host Megan Day is away this week because she is taking the week off to write a new

preface to the the paperback version of our book Bigger than Bernie, which is going to be out in February.

She's writing her portion of the preface, I should say.

She's not doing the whole thing.

We're both doing it.

She's doing it. We went over this on the previous episode. But while Megan is out, we are joined by the woman who really makes this podcast work folks. The woman behind the ones and twos, you sometimes hear her reading

some ads or being referenced but you never hear her actual voice on the podcast. I'm talking of course about our producer Sarah Heard. Hello Sarah.

Hi Micah everyone can't see it but I am completely blushing and very embarrassed to be

given so much credit for the podcast that is really mostly just you and often Megan

Well I was very happy to have you join the conversation that we have today which we'll get into in a second.

Not just because I wanted a third person on this conversation, but because you are a, you're an established

like podcaster and a public presenter in your own right.

Can you just tell people who you are and what you do?

Yeah, yeah, I am locally in Chicago referred to as Sarah

from the emails because I am the Combs Coordinator

and founding co-host of the Midwest Socialist Podcast.

And the Midwest Socialist, can you just explain what that is, the podcast and the publication

for those outside of the kind of Midwestern socialist DSA world?

Yeah, Midwest Socialist is a podcast and online publication that is a project of the Chicago Democratic Socialist of America

that have now hit 3,000 members which is very exciting for me as an officer in

the organization and we just pretty much publish everything that is too cool
