Hello everybody and welcome back to RevLeftRadio.

0:09.4

On today's episode we have the continuation of our ongoing series on WEB Du Bois and his

0:16.1

work covering different texts that he wrote, different elements of his biography, learning

0:21.4

what we can as we stand today from his life and his legacy and his works and so this is

0:27.4

the second installment with the one and only Dr. Sherice Burton Steley, aka Dr. CBS.

0:35.0

She is finally on RevLeft, it's been a long time coming, I've talked to her before on

0:38.7

Grilla history, I've communicated with her on Twitter and we have always been wanting

0:44.0

to do an episode together and then once PM and I decided to do this series I knew I had

0:49.2

to reach out to her and bring her on because she along with Gerald Horn and others is a really

0:54.3

well-known and well-respected scholar that focuses among other things on Du Bois' work.

1:01.2

But this is the second installment, maybe some people did not catch the first, there's

1:05.2

no necessary order, you need to listen to these episodes in, each episode can stand on

1:10.2

their own as a one-off listen for those that want to approach it in that way.

1:15.5

But throughout this series I do have my co-host PM Irvin on to help me as somebody who

1:22.2

I think has a deeper well of knowledge on Du Bois who's actively studying Du Bois and

1:26.5

his work, I wanted somebody else on to help bolster this series to make it as good as

1:31.1

it could possibly be and PM was that person.

1:33.9

So for those that haven't been acquainted with you from our first episode with Gerald Horn

1:37.5

PM, can you kind of reintroduce yourself and then take us into the interview?

1:41.3

Yeah, thanks so much, Brad, it's as always an honor to be included, I'm a one-time

1:46.5

listener of the show and I think the fact that we're doing a series on Du Bois' philosophy

1:53.2

and political thought is really crucial.
