We're talking about David Kuresh, the branched dividends, and the Waco Siege that resulted in a

Texas apocalypse. From press accounts, I knew that there was a group of religious people who were

being popularly described in the media as a cult that were holed up in a compound in Waco

Texas surrounded by federal law enforcement officials. And one day the Waco compound was on fire.

I was stunned. I had no idea that something like that would happen. At the time, I simply accepted

what the media was saying. I didn't have any reason to suspect it was wrong. More than 10 years later,

I did some research into the subject and I started to find problems with the story as presented by the

media and the government. As this year's anniversary approached, I dug back into the story and I was

shocked by what I found. In today's episode, we'll talk about the story of David Kuresh and the

competing claims about what happened at the Waco Siege. Next week, we'll go into detective mode

and start sifting the evidence to try to figure out who's telling the truth and who's lying.

On April 19, 1993, 26 years ago, federal law enforcement authorities stormed a religious

commune outside Waco, Texas. The commune was run by a group known as the Branch Dividians and it

was led by David Kuresh. The attack resulted in the deaths of more than 70 people including many

children. In the aftermath of this horrible event, a series of government investigations followed.
