Bickley. It's Monday, April 7th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.

Stocks took a roller coaster ride today as Wall Street reacted to President Trump's latest

tariff push. Daily Wire's senior editor, Cabot Phillips Phillips says more. The Dow fell another 1,300 points

when the markets open today, only to rebound amid rumors of a tariff pause and then fall again

once those rumors turned out to be just rumors. Ultimately, by midday, the Dow was down nearly

a thousand points while the S&P fell near bare market territory amid ongoing threats of retaliatory

measures from China and others. The EU did, however, extend an olive branch of sorts,

offering a zero-for-zero trade deal with the U.S. after President Trump imposed steep tariffs on

European imports. EU commissioned President Ursula von der Leyen did, however, caution that they

were ready to strike back.

Meanwhile, in an effort to bring Beijing to the bargaining table,

Trump is threatening additional 50% tariff hikes on China if they do not back down on their 34% rate against U.S. goods.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met President Trump at the White House today.
