Hi crime junkies I'm your host Ashley Flowers and I'm Britt and I'm going to do

something a little different today I'm kind of starting with a spoiler I'm gonna tell

you that today's story ends with a plea to the public to be on the lookout

for someone who committed a heinous crime, one that only very evil, very twisted people could

do. And in this person's act of violence,

they took the life of a 39-year-old dad

who was devoted to his son and his family

and worked hard to provide for them

in a small suburb outside of Detroit, Michigan.

And I said it's a spoiler because this person is still on the run.

So I need you to listen carefully to every detail so you can help us find them and finally bring

justice to a family that's been waiting over five years for it. This is the

story of David Carter. the So, Tasia Carter Jackson is going about her regular Tuesday morning routine in October 2018 when she gets a call from her

brother's co-worker asking if she knew where her brother David is. This

coworker tells her that David was a no show for work on Sunday and Monday and today

Tuesday which immediately alarms Tasia.

According to Netflix's Unsolved Mysteries episode, it's just not like him to skip one day, much less three.

So something must be very wrong.

And that's when Tasia remembers that on Sunday, David had sent a text to his son,

DJ, saying that he was sick, and he would need to skip

their typical Sunday night get together.

DJ was supposed to go to his house.
