since the Sunny Jurgensen John Unitist days. He didn't say Johnny Unitus. He said John Unitius.

I've heard people refer to Johnny Unitas as both Johnny Unitas and John Unitas. Is it Baltimore

people that refer to him as John and the rest of the NFL that refers to him as Johnny? Do you

have any thoughts on that?

Well, my my guess would be based on, I know a number of people who knew him well,

that it would be Baltimore people because it would be people who knew him who would actually

call him John, as opposed to Johnny.

Now, it's like, John would be the less formal in this case, as opposed to Johnny.

Strangers would call him Johnny. I think acquaintances would call him John.

Right. Now, you know, you've told me, it's funny because I think about Ernie O'Corsi, right?

Ernie O'Corsi, who you've mentioned many times over the years. He was the longtime GM in Baltimore

and Cleveland and other places, but really for the Giants and the architect behind some of the

giants, you know, first really, really good teams. I think he was, or maybe that was

George Young. George Young was the... That was George Young, but Ernie was the architect of the

Eli Manning team. Exactly. But I think of interviews with Ernie of Corsourcy, and I think I've heard him refer to Johnny Unitas as John Unitas.
