So, the election is over. We have a new government with a strong majority that was elected on probably

the most ambitious environmental manifesto of any government that's yet been elected in the UK. And I think there's

reason to feel pretty hopeful. We've also got a phalanx of new Lib Dem and Green MPs who will be

pushing for action on the environment. And Kirstama has perhaps slightly unusually put in place

a whole team of ministers who both know their briefs and care about the issues that they're in charge of.

So there's a lot of people feel hopeful about.
